What is the difference between QVF and QVW? ›

The main difference between the two is that a . qvf file contains the entire application, including any data connections, whereas a . qvw file contains only the data and the layout of the application, with the data connections being defined separately.

You can share the QVF file which is created in the folder location C:\Users\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps every time and when you create new file it is created here. And you can use this file for sharing the documents as qvf file. Also if you have server install you have mount the QVF file there also.

If you need a quick and easy data fix, QVD might be your jam. But if you're looking for more flexibility and control, QVF is the way to go (just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve). And if you're using Qlik Sense, well, then Qlik Sense QVF is your only option (but hey, it's a pretty good one!).
