Grab your gal pals! It’s February and that means it’s time to celebrate your favorite women in your life with this chic and easy Galentine’s Day brunch.
As a kid, I always got a little gift basket with some candy and a small gift from my mom to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I don’t think I ever really associated this holiday as a romantic one. And as I got older, it became more of a day to celebrate and acknowledge every person I love, from my husband and parents to my friends, and even myself.
How to Host a Chic and Easy Galentine’s Day Brunch
Unofficially, Galentine’s Day is February 13, but in my opinion, you can celebrate it any time you’d like in February. This day was actually a fictional holiday in the TV show Parks and Recreation. It’s been steadily gaining so much traction over the years that – nerd alert – Merriam-Webster has the holiday on its radar as part of its “Words We’re Watching” list.
I honestly love any excuse to host people, and what better reason to do so than with a Galentine’s Day brunch to celebrate friendship with your lady friends. Whether you’re happily married, single, or somewhere in between, there’s always time for food and drink!
Here are my tips for a chic and easy Galentine’s Day brunch.
Galentine’s Day Brunch Ideas
Make It Buffet-Style
Brunch is arguably the best meal of the day because you can serve sweet and savory. And breakfast foods and lunch foods.
You obviously know all your girlfriends, but some may not know others. Any time I may be getting various groups of friends together, I always serve things buffet-style. There’s something about this kind of setup that makes your get together conversation-friendly, instead of just sitting down at a table and eating.
These are some of my Galentine’s Day brunch food favorites:
- Mini heart shaped waffles with chocolate chips, syrup, whipped cream, or even sprinkles (my mini heart shaped waffle maker is under $10!)
- Fresh fruit (try to stick to anything pink or red, like strawberries or raspberries)
- Classic Valentine’s Day candy like Sweethearts or wrapped chocolates
- A V-day themed charcuterie board (click here to see exactly how I made mine)
- Frosted sugar cookies and French macarons
- Valentine’s Day Mix M&Ms
For this Galentine’s Day brunch, I set up a little buffet on my media console and created visual interested with varying heights via cake stands, bowls, and plates.
Serve Individual Bottles
I’m a sucker for mini wine and champagne bottles. And a Galentine’s Day brunch is the perfect occasion for this purchase. To make these mini sparkling wine bottles extra special, tie a ribbon with a pink striped straw around each bottle s everyone can grab and sip.
For get-togethers and parties, stemless wine glasses are a must for me because there’s less of a chance that someone will knock them over.
Pink and Red Valentine’s Day Decor
While I don’t decorate my home for every holiday, I do love making things festive and on theme if i’m throwing a party or having a special get-together. For a Galentine’s Day brunch like this, it’s fun to sprinkle in some girly décor!
It goes without saying that a Galentine’s Day anything is going to have pink or red. So lean into it and enjoy it. I broke up the colors by added white and gold accents. I think it softens things a bit and makes everything look a little more grown up and less like a child’s party. Obviously, all things hearts are a must-have to add in, too.
Here are some simple ways to decorate for your Galentine’s Day brunch:
- Sprinkle candy or paper heart garland on your table
- Use chargers under your plates to instantly elevate each table setting (buy my gold chargers here)
- Swap out your usual napkins with some seasonal ones – Target always has a good selection of Valentine’s Day paper napkins
- This heart-shaped plate is always a favorite
- Add in florals to liven up your party
- Pink or red table linens – I saw this adorable pink table runner that I think I’ll grab!
Don’t Forget to Dress Up
Give yourself a reason to dress up in a pink or red dress! If you’re going to host a brunch this chic and cute, you and all your BFFs should also look just as cute, am I right?
Sit back, pop open your mini champagne, and enjoy time with the women in your life you love the most.
